Data Storage Specialist/ Senior Field Service Hardware Engineer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data Storage Specialist / Senior Field Service Hardware Engineer to join well established blue chip organisation based at their prestigious offices in Calne, Wiltshire.
As a Data Storage Specialist/ Senior Field Service Hardware Engineer you will have demonstrated experience in delivering telephone support to a high level to internal and external customers whilst working to strict customer deadlines.
The successful candidates primary skill set will be in the disk based storage arena (SAN, NAS), Netapp, EMC & HP. You will be required to provide second and third line and on-site technical support to our clients and engineers, while working within contracted service level agreements.
Candidates MUST have extensive experience of the following:
• Netapp
• IBM N-series
• EMC Clariion
• Symmetrix
• HP EVA
As well as previous experience of the following:
• Scalar tape libraries
• ADIC tape libraries
Experience with the following would be a distinct advantage although not essential:
• Servers HP
• Fujitsu
• IBM
Typically the right candidate will have worked as a Senior Field Engineer for several years so have a broad knowledge of various hardware from fault-finding and break/fix. Perhaps you will now be working as Technical Support or Consultant.
The successful candidate would participate in the Duty Manager Out of Hours Rota which would involve 1 week in 3. In addition, due to the nature of our service level agreements, some out of hours support may be required.
