A new exciting opportunity has arisen with a Blue chip organisation for a 1st/2nd line IT Support Technical Specialist. On-site position – Preston.

Salary is up to £23,500 and also includes a shift allowance and £1,000 starter bonus.

You will need to have the ability to go through SC clearance to allow  you to start with BPSS.

The role is full-time working 12-hour shifts, (7am – 7pm, 7pm – 7am) with a 4 on, 4 off working pattern.

GTS are currently recruiting for a 2nd Line Technical Support Specialist to join an IT service delivery command centre team. Delivering managed service solutions. This role provides incident management as well as rapid response activities to major incidents for a multitude of secure clients within the Hub.

A SNAPSHOT OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Manage and resolve service-impacting incidents.
Develop own skills to reduce Mean-time-to-resolve; avoid passing cases to other resolver groups.
Work closely with iSolve to identify and implement automation.
Creation and ownership of application failover procedures.
Assist the Service Desk during busy periods.
Proactive management of events from event management tool daily reports.
Escalation of critical events to the command centre technical groups as well as shift commanders.
Feed into the continual service improvement process by identifying changes and improvements to event configuration.
Finally, you’ll need to maintain service CMDB information to accurately report service impact for triggered incidents.

IDEALLY, WE ARE LOOKING FOR THE BELOW KEY SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES:

Previous skills in a similar role
Skills in the Windows 10 operating system
Hardware and Software fault diagnosis skills and troubleshooting
Good customer service skills
Ability to achieve SC security clearance
