The Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of the company’s new business programme. This role will include working closely with the Account Project Lead and the Pipeline Manager. The team develops the new business prospect into a proposal, ensuring the service design and governance criteria are met.
The candidate must be prepared to work on a nuclear-licensed site and hold a valid DV clearance.
Firstly, plan and deliver projects using waterfall or agile methodologies, as appropriate.
Ensure a smooth transition of projects and programmes into BAU service.
Also, control the lifecycle of all changes. Enable beneficial changes to be made with minimum disruption to IT services.
Manage the IT Service Risks associated with system developments.
Coordinate the delivery of new services and releases from project teams into a live environment.
Define requirements. Design and implement project modifications and development. Recommend changes as appropriate.
Possess strong skills in core project management competencies. For example, planning, risk and financial management, stakeholder management, and team leadership.
Create and implement project definitions, schedules, budgets, and objectives of projects.
Prepare detailed statements of work and gains concurrence and approval from stakeholders regarding various project aspects and adjust accordingly.
Finally, participate in delivery assurance reviews to ensure adherence to project management policies and procedures.
Firstly, assist in the staffing of projects.
Organise project team members to ensure communication and understanding of deadlines, assignments, and objectives. Participates in work as applicable.
Manage costs, schedules, as well as quality by overseeing project deliverables. Ensure schedule and budget are met. May revise as appropriate.
Also, perform ongoing review of project status. Identify possible project risks. Recommend and implement risk mitigation solutions.
Work in conjunction with team members and stakeholders to manage changes to technical and business requirements, and the schedule of the project. Provide input on possible changes needed based on the current project status.
Manage client, company, and project team expectations for agreed-upon project performance by obtaining and providing project metrics. Recommend changes based on performance and metrics.
Oversee assigned personnel for projects. Assign work and provide direction on the completion of project objectives. Address performance issues within prescribed guidelines. Provide performance input upon completion of the project.
Also, implement a risk-appropriate Service Transition Framework in line with ITIL best principles.
Implement a Change Management framework.
Provide the PMO analyst with regular progress updates to ensure accuracy in the project forecast.
Manage project financials ensuring visibility of project costs against revenue.
Work closely with the BAU Operations Manager. Agree on support and resources utilised from the BAU service to support project delivery. Where required, manage the recruitment of project resources.
Finally, mentor the teams around best practices in Service Transition.
Firstly, good working knowledge of Excel and Word.
Experience working within a similar environment would be an advantage but is not essential.
Also, proven experience managing medium to large-scale projects end to end.
Formal certification in recognised Project Management qualification such as PRINCE 2 Practitioner, Managing Successful Programmes, or PMP preferred but not essential.
Also, experience working with project management methodologies such as Catalyst. This includes budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, project management software, and finance and accounting concepts and practices.
Furthermore, working knowledge of client vision, business objectives, and critical success factors.
Experience working with delivery assurance principles and appropriate procedures relevant.
Experience working with techniques and approaches related to the architecture, development, integration, and deployment of project phases.
Skilled in estimating as well as common project management desktop tools.
Excellent Stakeholder Management, Presentation, as well as Communication Skills.
Also, ability to work well under pressure.
Excellent organisation, and able to take a methodical approach.
Outsourced service delivery experience.
An understanding of IT technical solutions and the IT market.
Finally, a good attitude to improving service.
