GTS’s Cisco Networking Engineer Jobs: Network Engineer IV.
This role is working from home, based near Newcastle.
The salary is £45,000 to £50,000, depending on experience.
SC clearance is an advantage if already held. If not, you must be eligible to obtain.

We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer who is familiar with working in a fast-paced, result driven role to support one of our clients based in Newcastle.
As a Network Engineer you will be virtual first, mainly working from home. The hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00. You must have the flexibility to be able to travel to 2 sites in Newcastle if and when required.
Due to the nature of our client’s work the successful candidate will need to either hold or be able to obtain SC Security Clearance. For this reason, we are only able to progress with applications from British nationals.

As a Network Engineer you will:

Collaborate with network architects to design and implement functional company networks.
Install and configure networking hardware.
Create and implement network security measures.
Mentor junior staff.
Conduct regular network performance tests.
Delegate networking maintenance tasks to junior staff.
Deal with escalated network support issues.
Draw up network status reports.
Deliver network engineering projects and handle advanced support issues.
Monitor and diagnose performance issues.

As a Network Engineer, you will have experience and skills in:

Must have current Cisco LAN / WAN – CCNA level experience.
Proven experience working as a Network Engineer. This is a high-level role where experience is key.
Extensive experience in Firewalls, LAN / WAN in Cisco, and Aruba comms equipment.
Advanced knowledge of network operating systems including Cisco, JUNOS, and IOS.
Knowledge of networking hardware. This includes CPUs, wiring, and configuring routers.
Be a logical thinker when gathering information and incident troubleshooting.
Ability to take ownership of assigned work.
Able to prioritise workload.
Experience with designing and implementing business solutions using common network equipment.
Experience in designing, writing, and updating both system documentation and network diagrams.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
