Desktop Support Engineer
GTS has an job exciting opportunity for a Desktop Support Engineer to join a well-established organisation in Bridgwater . This is an initial 3-month contract but may be extended.
The role is inside IR35. As a result, is suited to umbrella contractors only.
Working as a Desktop Support Engineer, you will have the technical knowledge so to fulfil service work orders. This will include supporting devices such as PCs, laptops, cabling, televisions, projectors, phones, and peripherals, in addition to site security equipment.
Firstly, you will be responsible for activities within the Kiosk or room, which is allocated to conduct Service.
Secondly, you will manage stock levels within the Kiosk. For instance, you may need to provide ad hoc devices, if stock unavailable.
Thirdly, you will support site engineers and apply an intermediate level of subject matter knowledge. In addition, you will fulfil requests for the provision of hardware.
Additionally, you will receive defective and return working devices to the end users. As aresult, you will be provide disposal services.
Lastly, you will work on projects, the scope of which may be moderate to complex.
A minimum of 2-3 years experience.
Working technical knowledge of standard systems as well as business software.
Strong communication skills which include both verbal and written.
Excellent Client facing soft skills.
Strong problem solver
Ability to work within defined practices and procedures, yet exercise independent judgment.
Confidence to makes recommendations.
Ability to provide feedback on new technical processes and so, help to drive efficiency.
