We have an exciting job opportunity for a Desktop Support Engineer to join a blue chip organisation in Crawley on an initial 3 month contract

The Desktop Support Engineer role is based on site in Crawley and falls inside35 therefore, this job is only suitable for umbrella contractors.

A SNAPSHOT OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Firstly, you will provide engineering support to client operating platforms for desktop, collaboration tools, mobile technologies and printers. Secondary, supporting clients other technologies including, laptop/mobile devices and video conferencing, network/remote access. Additionally, work in collaborations with the Service Desk on user break/fix and other support functions to met the SLA.

Furthermore,

Provide problem resolution for referred incidents from the Service Desk.
Ensure total User Experience is high quality at all times.
Make sure all changes to Production systems are planned and approved in accordance with the Change Management Process.
Work with the management teams to ensure documentation is kept up-to-date.
Display a proactive interest in keeping the client running efficiently for the lowest cost possible.
Proactively monitor the Clients IT systems , looking for potential issues and highlighting them as appropriate.
Work with the Service Management team to identify and resolve problems in the infrastructure to reduce the occurrence of incidents/faults.

IDEALLY, WE ARE LOOKING FOR THE BELOW KEY SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES:

2+ years’ experience providing technical support in a fast paced and constantly changing environment up to executive management level.
ITIL v3 foundation qualification.
Microsoft certified System Administrator in XP/WIN 7
Experience supporting HP and Xerox printers including windows 2003/2008/2010 print servers
Good working knowledge of Active Directory
Excellent customer service and communication skills including providing VIP support.
Experience in supporting large Mac-based environments to desktop level with emphasis on Win 7 OS / office 2010 as well as Win 8 and O365
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and End point for video conferencing units.
Finally,  a good understanding of WebEx, Lync, mobile devices and Outlook
