Role falls within IR35, so you will need to go through our preferred umbrella company.
We are looking for a customer-focused and enthusiastic individual to join the On-Prem Infrastructure team. Above all, you will have a passion for problem-solving as well as delivering excellent 3rd Line customer support.
This role is strategically important in the continued development of IT Services in an Enterprise Server Management function. As such, this will include troubleshooting on all supported platforms.
As a Server/Infrastructure Engineer you will be responsible for the delivery, together with the maintenance of IT solutions to the end Customer.
Ultimately, your daily tasks will be to ensure service continuity whilst ensuring all SLAs are met.
Firstly, you will provide daily support for the Server Environment. This will include Patching, Image Config. and Deployment, as well as Server and Storage support.
Secondly, you will support Config. Management, System Build, File Storage Management, together with System Administration.
Thirdly, you will be responsible for Operational Server Support. For instance, this can include troubleshooting of Windows, as well as Storage & Backup environments.
Crucially, you will ensure the management of all Tickets for core operating systems.
Experience working within controlled Data Centre environments.
Windows Server 2003/2008/2016, infrastructure experience, OS install together with configuration, imaging.
Windows Server 2003/2008/2016 Active Directory knowledge.
Additionally, understanding of Group Policies / DNS / DHCP / DFS.
Virtualisation. This will include: Hyper-V, VMWare as well as Citrix.
DELL/HP Converged infrastructure such as Server/Storage and MS Storage spaces.
Cloud. As such, trained in Azure Infrastructure. However, knowledge in that area is acceptable.
Symantec NetBackup together with MFA
Technical proficiency in server and storage hardware and software. Additionally, to act as recognised technical expert so to consult with other IT groups on system designs and support.
Good Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft RDS, WSUS, SCCM, as well as SCOM.
Hands-on experience in supporting Operational activities, in particular troubleshooting, in all areas of Windows, Storage, and Backup infrastructure.
Understand performance monitoring with the ability to produce performance reports.
Crucially, proactive management and monitoring operational issues.
Stabilising developed infrastructure solutions. This will require using Microsoft methodologies in complex customer environments.
Maintain disaster recovery plans, as well as regular reviews. This will ensure the Disaster Recovery strategy aligns with business requirements.
Oversight of Disaster Recovery validation on a regular basis.
