GTS’s IT Jobs Bristol. We have an exciting opportunity for a Desktop Support Engineer to join our blue chip client onsite in Bristol on an initial 18 month FTC, potentially leading to permanent. Successful candidates will need to either already hold valid SC Clearance or be happy to be put through it.

Due to the nature of this clearance, applicants must hold UK Nationality.

Working directly within a controlled environment, you will support the site up to early evening (late shift is 11:00 – 19:00hrs).
This role has a small staggered shift pattern, covering 7am – 7pm.
You will share a 24/7 call out rota with your colleagues. Out-of-hours and overtime payments will be made for this in addition to your basic salary.
The role will be offered initially as a Fixed-Term contract, extending to August 2024.

Your tasks:

As part of broader, yet highly committed support team, you will work directly onsite to provide dedicated support services for deskside and print. In every aspect of your work with the client, your Service Delivery Manager, your Team Leader and of course, your colleagues will support you.
You will be assigned various tickets throughout the day. Address each one with a strong sense of customer service. Leave each ticket not only resolved, but with a smile on the user’s face – a job well done.
This is a role where you will have direct influence on people’s day-to-day working life. With nothing more frustrating than a computer or a printer not working, you will be very person that makes things happen, working directly with the users in a highly rewarding way.

Your skills:

Ability to pass SC-clearance required for this operational site.
Previous experience resolving problems face to face with end user.
Comfortable in several deskside technologies
This role will include Data Centre Support – experience in this area will be advantageous.
Due to the varied nature of the role, it may be subject to enhanced referencing or vetting
