IT Jobs in Croydon, we have a great role for  a Technical Project Manager with Datacentre experience.

This job is located remotely following 3 month probation worked onsite Croydon, South London
Salary Up to £60,000
Hours of 9am- 6pm Monday to Friday.

Fully remote candidates will be considered following 3 month probation. First 3 months will be 100% based at the Croydon office for onboarding and integration into the team.
The role will be predominantly remote on completion of probation but there will be an expectation of occasional office visits for face to face training or team meetings.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Project Manager / Data Centre Management to join well established blue chip organisation based in their offices in mainly Croydon but happy to work from Monument offices as and when needed.

Applicants do need some experience of working with Data centre management.

You will come from a private sector background, with a high level technical project management background. We require you to have the ability to understand and oversee technical project elements and deal with technical team members.

As a Technical Project Manager you will have the following key experience:
1. Technical Capability and PS experience
2. Data centre Migration experience

• Project Management
Successfully leading projects from their inception to closure.
Deliver the as-sold solution, remaining within baselined budget timescale, while
achieving quality criteria and maintaining client satisfaction.
Including rigorous project scope control and management of change variations.
Communicating with key stakeholders regarding the project status.
Efficiently managing project set-up, resources and operations.
Follow a consistent and proven project management methodology – Initiation,
Planning, Reporting, Execution and Closure.
Adapting and tailoring the process when required, to provide a flexible and bespoke
client experience.
• Reporting
Provide detailed and consistent reports to internal management and external client
teams, including but not limited to:
Project Health
P&L Management and Project Performance
Logging of Risks and Issues
Timescales
Client Management
Confidently chair and direct client conference calls and meetings. Build strong and
long-lasting client relationships.
Manage client satisfaction, commitment and expectations to high service levels and
manage escalations adequately.
Act as the single point of contact between our client and the customer whilst taking
accountability for all escalations relating to the project.
• Project Scheduling
Ensure appropriate project scheduling in order to deliver high quality service
levels, whilst retaining profitability.
• Pre-Sales
Provide the Sales team assistance and guidance during the sales process, including
the qualification of opportunities and pricing.
Engage with the Pre-Sales & Sales teams in order to adequately scope and cost
project solutions, culminating in the completion of a proposal including the
detailed task schedule, resource allocation and cost breakdown.
Assist with the identification of opportunities through business conversations with
clients.
• Subject Matter Expertise
Provide subject matter expertise and advice within the Projects Team and to other
departments.
• Supplier Management
Manage direction, communication and quality control of suppliers
Maintain ongoing communication between internal and external stakeholders.
• Documentation
Produce appropriate project documentation, including but not limited to:
Project Initiation Document
RAMS
Project Plan / Work Breakdown Structure
Highlight Reports
Runbooks
Quality and Communication Plans
Project Log – Risks, Quality and Change
Project Report – Lessons Learnt
• Team Management
Lead teams effectively within a matrixed environment, embracing people management
and providing appropriate feedback to the relevant line managers.
Assist with the coaching and mentoring of team members and colleagues.

As a Technical Project Manager you will have the following Qualifications & Training:
PRINCE2 Foundation, or equivalent
PRINCE2 Practitioner, or equivalent
CDCMP(desirable)

3+ Years’ Technical Project Management experience.

Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing rising talent in the technology department.
Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality.

An advanced level of technical experience, especially within the data centre space, surrounding Networking, Storage, Infrastructure and Architecture.

The ability to communicate effectively in both technical and non-technical terms.
The ability to co-ordinate resources across multiple projects within an IT function.
Demonstrated understanding of Project Management processes, strategies, and methods.
Excellent time management, organizational skills and experience establishing
guidelines in these areas for others.
Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making and supervising
department teams.
Understanding of opportunity qualification and scoping
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong logistical, organisational and planning skills
Strong administrative skills
Strong IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Excellent problem-solving skills

Desirable:
Understanding of mechanical and electrical datacentre work (M&E) – HVAC, CRAC, CRAH
