GTS Job vacancies Portsmouth is looking for an IMAC Deskside Support Engineer. This is a Permanent position with a start date as soon as possible. This role is Monday to Friday working between 7:00 am to 7 pm. Total hours a week is 37.5. The salary is up to £33,000.

This role is only suitable for British nationals as SC Security Clearance is needed.

Role overview:

Occasional travel is required within the local area (up to 1-hour drive).
IMAC’s – Installations, Moves, Additions, and Changes.
Break-Fix of all in-scope managed devices.
Hands and Eyes Support to visually verify the state of managed devices.
Desktop Support including special project activities as they arise.
Asset Management and Stock Management.
Managing the lifecycle of loan user equipment.
Work alongside the client, managing own workload. This is whilst liaising with other teams or vendors for resolution.
Act as a point of contact for the customer.
Software and system fault diagnosis, analysis, and fix.
Take ownership of for stock used.  Follow the correct procedures for stock management.
Proactively keeping the customer updated with problem status at all times.
Identifying and reporting risk as appropriate in accordance with the guidelines.
Manage and execute complex projects.

Skills and qualifications needed:

Must have, or be able to obtain UK GOV Security Clearance at SC level.
Full, clean UK Driving License.
Proven track record of troubleshooting skills.
Previous experience in a similar role.
PC and Desktop Support knowledge. This includes Microsoft Windows NT/98/XP onwards.
Excellent communicator skills and must be client focused.

Administering Windows Share, File permissions.
Mobile connectivity, for example, Android and iPhone.
Knowledge of SCCM, HP Workstation, Desktops, and Laptops
Must be driven and willing to learn.
Also, be an excellent team player and work well without supervision.

Desirable:

Linux/ Unix working knowledge.
Microsoft Certification such as MCSE/MCSA/MCP.
Accredited in relevant manufacturer’s hardware qualification (HP).
