GTS Jobs Cork has another exciting contract role. This role is for a Data Centre / Server / Infrastructure Engineer and will join our client onsite in Cork. The initial contract is for 3 months but this has the potential to be extended.

Data Centre / Server / Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for racking servers, troubleshooting issues with server OS, cabling of servers with switches, and enterprise storage.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Firstly, working onsite in Cork as a remote hands on technical engineer
Secondly,  you will assistance and support team members
Working with a remote team of Infrastructure and Network Architects on large implementation projects within Enterprise IT Operations
Also, this is a hands on technical implementation and configuration role of medium to large enterprise infrastructure and networking equipment
Furthermore,  collaborate with the wider Information Technology teams, including Satellite Communications, Cyber Security and Data
Provide support and expertise to assist with issues escalated by Operational support teams

Desired Experience

Firstly, fully understand Enterprise IT Infrastructure – building/racking, configuration and support
Secondly, have working knowledge of configuring Routers & Switches in a LAN / WAN environment
Be able to configure & troubleshoot firewalls ( for example Cisco & Checkpoint)
Good understanding Data Centre Configuration of enterprise server and storage
Be trained on Wireless Access Points in a corporate environment
Come from a Helpdesk background
Finally, good understanding of Laptop support and building (Win 10 Pro)
