Jobs in Chelmsford: Technical Service Desk Analyst / Deskside Support

Hybrid – 3 days per week on site – Chelmsford – Travel potentially required. Support is covered from Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:30, and there are two different shift patterns 8:00 – 16:30 & 9:00 – 17:30

Up to £25,000 DOE.

Locations – main office Chelmsford. With planned travel as needed to other sites in the UK.

NHS background advantageous.

For clearance purposes you must be a British National for this role.

DBS, NPPV level 3 and HMPPS Eligible.

This job requires you to have a full, clean, and valid UK driving license along with access to a suitable car as you will be expected to drive to various locations within the UK.

Principal Responsibilities:

Firstly, be a specialist knowledge resource within IT. Also, develop knowledge in any key areas as necessary to support the client wherever required.
Provide advice and instruction to the 1st Line Support Desk team, or to the other members of the Projects team, to enable them to achieve first time fixes where possible, as well as to the end customer where needed.
Also, update the Service Desk with any fixes to keep the knowledge base up to date.
Understand and work with the principles of ITIL v4 within a service delivery setting (training can be provided).
Finally, develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of PC based operating systems and their applications.

Skills and experience required:

Firstly, this role requires a high level of technical competence and IT specialty, along with good analytical skills.
Have the ability to convey technical or specialty ideas to other members of the organisation’s staff, management, as well as end users.
Finally, have the ability to organise, plan and execute your workload. Have the ability to work unsupervised without reference to a manager or other technical resources.
