Jobs in Hampton Peterborough. GTS has a contract role for an AV and Patch Management Engineer. This is 3 month contract role however this is likely to be extended.
The day rate is from £275 to £320.
This role is inside IR35. As a result, it is only suitable for Umbrella Contractors.
This is a Hybrid role with 2 days per week in the Peterborough office. You must be in a commutable distance from Hampton, Peterborough.
The working hours include 24/7, 365 support on a 4 on 4 off basis, covering days and nights.
Day shifts run from 09:00 to 21:00.
Night shifts from 21:00 to 09:00.
The engineer will be responsible for providing patch and AV management related support. This is to meet the companies contractual customer requirements (Manage Service Provider).
Facilitate and execute the installation of agreed patches and the maintenance of customer AV management software.
Respond to BAU Security and Patch Management incidents logged on the incident management system to ensure incidents are resolved within SLA whilst providing help and support to the team.
Monitor, progress, and resolve incidents. This is whilst ensuring customer satisfaction through proactive updates, frequent contact, and escalation where necessary.
Be the point of technical escalation and expertise.
Give technical assistance to the transition of new customers when required.
Ensure all implemented solutions are backed up with documentation, training and expertise. This is within the Service Desk and Support areas.
Perform Daily, Weekly, and Monthly scheduled tasks relating to Patching and AV management when required.
Also, escalate potential service issues to line management and ITIL Services.
Escalate potential problem issues with Problem and Incident Management.
Recommend and deploy changes via the change management process when required.
Maintain and develop knowledge, skills, and experience. This is through client contact, industry sources, formalised training, and development plan.
Qualifications, Skills, and experience required:
Experience in a similar SLA-driven support role. Ideally MSP.
Knowledge of IT platforms, equipment, and applications.
Proven Customer service Skills.
Industry recognised qualifications in relevant areas.
Windows Server 2012/2012 R2/2019 and Windows Workstation 10/11.
Patch Management Software.
SEPM and other mainstream AV solutions. e.g. Sophos, Kaspersky, etc.
Experience with troubleshooting. This includes Event Viewer, Log Files, Command Prompt.
Basic networking.
Desirable knowledge in the following areas:
Firstly, SCCM.
Experience using PowerShell and PowerShell Script.
Also, Security Clearance (SC) is an advantage.
Finally, knowledge of ITIL change process.

Firstly, you must have good communication skills. This includes both verbal and written.
Punctual and reliable.
Positive, enthusiastic, and supportive individual.
Ability to take ownership of and progress incidents to resolution. Identify when escalation is necessary.
Also, must work well under pressure.
Be a good team player and support team members.
Have great interpersonal skills. This includes the ability to listen, build rapport, and establish empathy. Show awareness of internal and external issues calmly and politely.
