Deskside Support Engineer
We have an exciting opportunity for a Deskside Support Engineer onsite in Weybridge. This is a Fix term Contract with standard office hours, so Monday- Friday.
This role is based in Weybridge on a 9-month fixed term contract. However, there is a possibility for extension.
Working as a Deskside Support Engineer, you will provide on-site desktop support for technical infrastructure for end users. This will include advising and assisting users to solve problems related to software, hardware, networks, as well as peripherals.
In addition to this, daily activities include resolving a wide variety of desktop software and hardware issues as well as requests. Above all, to minimize disruption to our users.
Firstly, you will be responsible for software and system fault diagnosis and analysis. Above all, to achieve a fix.
Secondly, you will log and manage the lifecycle of all Incidents and IMAC’s. As a result, will ensure agreed SLA’s are met.
Thirdly, you will liaise with other teams or vendors so to achieve resolution.
Throughout, you will proactively keep customer users updated with the status of the problem.
Identifying and reporting risk as appropriate in accordance with the guidelines.
Additionally, you will assisting with projects as required.
Lastly, you will comply with Asset Management policies
Microsoft Windows 7 – 10 as well as Microsoft Office . This will include all applications and Outlook.
Basic hardware knowledge, for instance: laptop keyboards, memory, and hard drives.
Experience with network fault troubleshooting, in addition to network builds.
In addition to above, ability to conduct network printer installs and configuration.
Building of laptops and desktops. this would be via SCCM.
Working with remote tools such as SCCM, so to deploy software and take remote control.
Antivirus Applications for example, Symantec and windows.
Excellent problem solving skills. This would include the ability to support bespoke applications.
Self starter with the ability to work with minimum supervision.
Excellent Communication and People skills.
