GTS Portsmouth jobs. This full-time position is for a Deskside Support Engineer III. This role is based in Portsmouth, Hampshire. The salary is up to £29,400. The hours are 37.5 hours a week working from Monday through to Friday between 08:00 – 18:00.

Travel between sites is required as needed. As part of this role, you will need to either hold or able to obtain SC Security Clearance.

Deskside Support Engineer role overview:

Be the Deskside Services point of contact for users providing hardware and software technical resolution of desktop incidents as well as requests for moves and changes.
Manage own tickets throughout their Lifecycle and prioritise work to achieve the SLA.
Ensure aged tickets are addressed; pended tickets are updated and monitor SLAs in real-time to ensure compliance.
Also, keep the customer updated throughout the life of an incident. This is whilst ensuring satisfactory call resolution is achieved.
Update the Incident Management System, adding the progress and call resolution details.
Ensure high-priority/impact incidents are resolved using exceptional care, speed, and efficiency.
Work closely with the Operations Manager for service delivery escalations.
Handle and/or coordinate the resolution of technical and client issues, escalating to the Operations. Manager or Service Delivery Manager, as necessary.
Recommend service improvements to management and participate in the implementation of them.
Finally, perform tape-changing activities and remote hands for locally based servers and coordinate them in satellite sites.

Needed for this role:

Must have a full clean UK driving license and have access to a vehicle.
Also, be a self-motivated team player and have good technical skills.

Windows 7 and later versions
MS Office Suite, MS Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat suite
Also, Lotus Notes and Internet Explorer, Java and TCP\IP
Remote Control Software including Remote Assist and RDP
MacAfee Anti-Virus/spyware
Symantec Endpoint Services
Active Directory
PC Hardware and Architecture
Finally, Networking


Technical Microsoft Accreditations and Service Management (ITIL) awareness.
