Overview:

Lead one or more medium to large sized projects with medium to high complexity. May lead smaller programs or assist in managing aspects of larger programs. Assist in defining requirements and designing and implementing project development. Recommend changes or alternate paths as appropriate. Possess strong skills in core project management. This includes planning, risk and financial management, stakeholder management, and team leadership.

Job Description:

Firstly, create and implement project definitions, schedules, budgets, and objectives. This is for one or more medium sized projects of low to moderate complexity. Prepare statements of work with detail and gain approval from stakeholders. This is regarding various project aspects and then adjust them accordingly. Participate in delivery assurance reviews. This is to ensure adherence to project management policies and procedures.
Also, assist in the staffing of projects. Organise project team members to ensure communication of deadlines, assignments, and objectives. Participate in work when required.
Manage costs, schedules, and quality by overseeing project deliverables. Ensure schedule and budget are met. May revise as appropriate.
Perform ongoing review of project status. Identify possible project risks. Recommend and implement risk mitigation solutions as approved.
Work with team members and stakeholders to manage changes to technical requirements, and business requirements. Also, work with them on the schedule of the project. Provide input on possible changes needed based on current project status.
Manage client, company, and project team expectations for agreed upon project performance. Obtain and provide project metrics. Recommend changes or other paths based upon performance and metrics.
Finally, oversee assigned personnel for projects. Assign work and provide direction with regard to timeliness and completion of project tasks. Address performance issues within prescribed guidelines. Provide performance input upon completion of the project.

Essential Skills:

Firstly, at least 7 years of proven experience. Have the ability to manage medium to large scale projects as well as smaller projects end to end.
Formal certification in recognised Project Management qualification such as PRINCE 2 Practitioner, Managing Successful Programmes or PMP. This is desired but not essential.
Also, experience working with project management methodology. This includes budget development, project planning, control, and assurance methodologies. Also, project management software, and finance and accounting concepts and practices.
Working knowledge of client vision, business objectives, and critical success factors.
Experience with delivery assurance principles and appropriate procedures relevant to area.
Finally, have experience working with different techniques and approaches. These are related to the architecture, development, integration, and deployment of project phases.

Other Skills:
Firstly, be able to estimate and have common project management desktop tool skills.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Also, good leadership skills. This is to train and mentor the work of less experienced staff.
Creative thinking skills with the ability to problem solve.
Ability to handle multiple tasks at once and switch between tasks quickly.
Ability to manage medium sized projects.
Also, have the ability to work well in a team.
Ability to create and maintain both formal and informal networks.
Finally, be willing to travel.

Desirable:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information technology, engineering, or related field.
