GTS has a great opportunity for a Desktop / End User Computing Engineer to join a large IT organisation based in Hampton, Peterborough.

This role is a hybrid role where you will be required to attend the office 3 days a week and work 2 days remotely. The role can be worked from the London office as well.

the hours on the role are standard office hours, Monday to Friday 9-5.

This role is inside IR35 and will be through an umbrella

Main Purpose of Desktop / End User Computing Engineer

Manage and resolve incidents and requests associated with the EUC environment to agreed SLAs.
Document, track and monitor problem resolution ensuring timely resolution and clear communications with users throughout the incident/service request life cycle.
Liaise with other team members/managers to resolve more complex problems, escalating where necessary.
Process new hardware requests, place orders for new desktops and laptops via the Service Track tool and ensure that correct images/applications are installed on the devices and that all asset management tasks are completed.

To build and maintain onsite documentation/processes and procedures.

• SCCM configuration, administration and servicing
• Testing of Windows 10 builds
• Build updates to the build image(s)
• Assist transition into BAU support
• Image driver updates
• Patch Management of end-user devices
• Day to day BAU Support, managing the end-user environment to agreed SLAs

Knowledge & Experience

Qualifications
• Education – GCSE or equivalent.
• Full UK Driving License

Preferred Certifications:
• MCTS (Administering and Deploying System Centre 2012 Configuration Manager)
• ITIL v3 Foundation

Experience and Skills
• Understanding the importance of business processes and compliance
• Excellent communication skills
• Microsoft Office – Support, Deployment and Packaging
• Design and documentation skills
• In-depth experience of Windows 10
• In-depth experience of Microsoft SCCM
• Desktop Encryption (Bitlocker)
• Windows PowerShell knowledge and VBScript
• Software / Application Packaging experience
