We have an exciting opportunity for a Desktop Support Engineer to join an established organisation in Crawley . This is an initial 3 month contract

This is a site-based contract and is inside IR35. Therefore, this role is suited to umbrella contractors only.

As a senior desktop support engineer, you will support the Client’s operating platform. As such, be responsible for desktop and end user technologies, as well as collaboration tools. For example, this will include laptop and mobile devices, printers, as well as video conferencing. This position works collaboratively with the Service Desk, together with other support functions

A SNAPSHOT OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Firstly, you will resolve incidents referred from the Service Desk. This will include network remote access. Fundamentally, meet or exceed Service Level targets.
Additionally, support the Service Management team to proactively identify and resolve problems in the infrastructure thereby reducing the occurrence of incidents and faults.
Furthermore, monitor the level of IT support provided, looking for potential issues and highlighting them, as appropriate.
Secondly, ensure all changes to production systems are planned and approved, adhering to the Change Management process.
Additionally, assist in the planning and implementation of key IT and business projects, following required standards and policies.
Importantly, consistently keep all platform documentation up to date.
Crucially, to collaborate with all teams so to deliver excellent customer service, as well as look at ways to minimise costs.
Above all, foster a productive working atmosphere within the team, displaying excellent personal standards and as such, be a role model.

IDEALLY, WE ARE LOOKING FOR THE BELOW KEY SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES:

Minimum of 4+years’ experience.
Ability to work under pressure.
Adaptable to change.
Excellent customer service.
Superb communication skills at all levels.
Experience providing VIP support.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

ITIL v3 foundation certificate.
Microsoft certified: XP/WIN 7 – System Administrator.
HP and Xerox printer support, including windows 2003/2008/2010 print servers.
Good working knowledge of Active Directory
Experience supporting large Mac-based environments to desktop level. In particular,  on Win 7 OS  office 2010, as well as Win 8 and O365.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
End point for video conferencing units.
Mobile devices.
WebEx, Lync.
Outlook.
