We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior IT Engineer to join a blue chip organisation on a permanent basis in Derby.


Purpose of Job

  • To provide first line hardware and software technical support to all company system users.
  • Perform all IT housekeeping tasks as per work instructions.
  • Liaise with Global Aviation IT and Leipzig H&G IT Service Desk and other entities for support and service requests when required.
  • Ensure that all IT calls and jobs are completed and recorded in accordance with work instructions and internal SLA’s.
  • Provide proactive incident management by monitoring background processes, communication links and devices for errors.
  • Ensure that all shift and backup logs are correctly maintained and that all documentation is kept up to date.
  • Ordering and maintaining IT hardware and consumables.


Knowledge / Experience

  • Incident Management and Escalation
  • AS400, Active Directory, Citrix and Windows 10
  • Linux (beneficial but not essential)
  • Microsoft Office products
  • Remote Desktop Technology
  • Server administration
  • VMWare administration
  • Firewall concepts
  • File Backup/Restore procedures.
  • Second line support experience in an IT support environment

  • Ability to work under pressure
  • IT Literate
  • Have a proactive mind set, and a positive can do approach to business support.
  • Proven IT business support in a fast paced business environment


The role is a 4 on/4 off rotation and so would be:

  • 4 shifts on – 06:30-18:30
  • 4 shifts off
  • 4 shifts on – 18:30-06:30
  • 4 shifts off
