Part of GTS’s remote working jobs, we have a new IT Contract opportunity for a Senior Network Consultant

Senior Network Consultant- Remote role. Contract role inside IR35 so candidates will need to go through our preferred umbrella company.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Network Consultant to join well established blue chip organisation.

A SNAPSHOT OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Firstly, the configuration, deployment, testing, maintenance, monitoring, and trouble resolutions of network components to provide a robust, industry-standard communications platform.
You will respond to incidents logged in the Incident Management system and provide end-users with a technical solution within Service Level Agreements.
Also you will take part in firewall management as well as incident diagnostics, Log Monitoring and Analysis.
Rule base Auditing and Advisory.
Device Software Upgrades, Patches, and Bug Fixes.
Configuration backup and restoration.
Rule base and Network Configuration Change Management.
Provide a point of technical escalation and expertise.
Maintain technical accreditations in line within the Cisco platform.
Escalate and work with vendors when required.
Setup and complete scheduled tasks when required.
Escalate potential service issues initially with Networks & Telephony Manager / Service Delivery Manager.
Escalate potential problem issues with Problem and Incident Management.
Recommend and deploy changes via the change management process when required.
Act as a role model for technical competence, helpfulness, facilitation of learning, and teamwork.
Aid team members as required.
Also, proactively maintain and develop skills and experience through client contact, industry sources, formalised training, and development plan.
Provide technical assistance to ongoing projects when required.
Finally, work with Internal IT Engineers to better understand issues and solutions.

IDEALLY, WE ARE LOOKING FOR THE BELOW KEY SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND ATTRIBUTES:
Essential

At least 5 years experience in a similar SLA-driven support role.
Proven customer service skills as well as experience delivering large transformation projects and complex changes.
OSI Model Knowledge and Design Considerations.
Routing and Switching Troubleshooting.
MPLS WAN Support.
Cisco Security Platforms (ASA, FirePower).
Network and Endpoint Security.
Security Monitoring and Incident Handling.
IDP/IPS configuration and management.
Vulnerability, Identity and Access Management.
Additionally, Security Operations.
Web Filtering, Malware Analysis, Data Loss Prevention, IDS/IPS and Firewall.
NMP Monitoring solutions.
Proven skills in customer service and delivering projects and complex changes.
Finally, proven knowledge of ITIL processes.

Desirable

Firstly, experience in Cisco Call Management.
Additionally, Industry recognised qualifications, ideally CCNP equivalent or higher.
Natural problem solver, getting to the root cause and identifying a long-term fix.
