Principal Service Designer
Location – Hybrid – 2 days working from home. 3 days working from the office, either Hemel Hampstead or Reading offices.
Perm – Salary £65,000 – £75,000
The role is open to anyone with a minimum of 3-years of experience in Service Design or a similar role such as the Solution Consultant/Architect role where Service Design was required.
In addition, you should have a proven track record of delivering successful service design projects. You will have the ability to deliver a high standard of documentation with enough technical experience to help develop a diverse ICT product and service portfolio.

OVERVIEW

Develop our extensive Product Portfolio and Service catalogue in line with our ICT Strategy to help grow our customer base and recurring revenues in both direct and indirect sales channels while aligning with the ITIL framework methodology.
To produce service documents, including Service Design/Definition/Descriptions, Service Level Agreements and ‘Story Brochures’ to help build a catalogue for our I.T, UC, Contents Services, Document Management and Service offerings.
Assist with identifying and onboarding new partners/suppliers when new technologies and services become relevant and business requirements dictate.
Develop and promote new collateral and training material for our internal teams to enable the understanding and promotion of our ICT Services within UK and the global company.
Attend partner/supplier meetings, forums, and events to understand the latest commercial and technical developments, promotions, and innovations to strengthen ICT Service offerings.
Finally, you’ll need to produce and promote a coherent, standard services pricing matrix and rate cards which can be used across all solutions and for the benefit of the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Communication
Develop and maintain the relationship with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Maintain open and proactive communication across the business and our partners to maintain knowledge and validity of service development.
Effectively navigate ambiguous and complex relationships and contexts with a very good level of emotional intelligence, leveraging differences, asking questions, and supporting coaching and feedback.

Methodology
Firstly, define and defend an appropriate design methodology for each unique service and each unique solution engagement.
Secondly, differentiate and articulate documentation standards of Service Design, Definition and Description.
Thirdly, reinforce services and solutions when challenged and influence senior client team members by establishing credibility related to specialized matters and technical judgment on work in progress.

As a person, you must be infinitely inquisitive, driven, and focused. Able to use a combination of logic, empathy, and storytelling to articulate a problem. In addition, you need to work creatively and technically to construct a repeatable service that solves it.
Demonstrate ability to analyse trends/plans/strategies to develop solutions and services.
Work closely with our ICT Commercial Management team to Identify financial implications of various business strategies to support commercial modelling.
Work with the Product Management team to identify and evaluate new ideas, technologies, or external products to expand capabilities.
Build and maintain departmental relationships and leverage experience to effectively execute work with identified commercial value and opportunity.
Identify barriers to change when implementing initiatives and find ways to reduce them.
Be able to work effectively with multiple teams in different contexts and environments.
Leverage influencing skills that address the varied interests and individual styles of others, recognizing people have different sources of motivation and ways to achieve success.
Engage within the organisation through open communication and recognition of achievements and encourage active sharing of ideas and opinions.
Develop an inclusive culture in which timely, authentic feedback is encouraged and provided from anywhere.
Finally, you should be able to design and lead the facilitation of complex workshops with the diverse business units, accommodating all levels of experience and knowledge.
