Senior Technical Consultant (L6) - Networks
This is a Senior Technical Consultant role for L6 Networks.
Full-time role. £55,000 to £75,000 plus a £10,000 bonus per year, paid quarterly.
This is a remote working role with occasional travel to the office. This can be either London, Manchester, or Peterborough.
Firstly, the role of the Senior Technical Consultant is to consult, design, plan and implement technical and architectural solutions.
Also, work with the Principal Technical Consultants and other teams.
Support the Sales and Solutions teams to give the technical expertise required.
Also, support in closing close sales opportunities.
Create a plan to better serve our customers. This will involve technical and solution presentations, solution design and configuration, and proposals. This will also include bid response documents, Statement of Work creation, time and material estimates and validation and HLD and LLD documents. This is all whilst ensuring the highest level of quality service.
Be eligible for Security Clearance.
Adhere to policies and GDPR Best practices.
Firstly, be an expert in the required technology for your section.
In-depth knowledge of multiple technologies is a must.
Act as a mentor and technical escalation point in all areas where you are considered a subject matter expert. This is through providing expert-level knowledge and peer-level review. This is in respect of issue resolution, standards, design, best practice, and delivering quality and reference target architectures.
Work with Account Managers, Project Managers, Solution Architects, Customers, and other parts of the business as required.
Also, design and deliver services across a wide range of clients, technologies, and requirements.
Create technical documents.
Finally, Low-Level and High-Level Designs.
Firstly, diagrams, BoM, and Statement of Works (SoW).
Secondly, Requirements Capture.
Design, implement, migrate, and test technical solutions.
Create and present customer-facing documents.
Participate and run project design workshops.
Renew and upgrade required certifications.
Work with clients on projects to identify technical solutions to business problems and streamline business processes.
On behalf of a client, take responsibility for ensuring that assigned projects are completed within the agreed time, quality, scope, and budget. Ensure that an appropriate level of governance is applied to maintain and manage risks, changes and issues.
Accountable as a lead technical role in one or more projects on which they are assigned, ensuring that solutions are captured in a Statement of Work or Project Initiation Document. Ensure they are analysed, designed, and delivered to industry best practices.
Manage one or more teams of consultants that are assigned to projects. This is for the duration of the projects.
Assist in the design of Proof of Concept scenarios, and Type Approval activities in the company labs and for a client’s needs.
Help in the creation of test-type documents and test scenarios.
Ensure personal objectives and set KPI targets are met or exceeded.
Question and evaluate existing systems, standards, documentation, and procedures. Also, recommend areas to improve.
Finally, accountability for enhancing the company’s brand. Also, Operations and Professional Services, inside and outside of the company.
Essential Skills for this role are:
Firstly, security fabric design, and implementation.
Secondly, Cisco route and switch, ASA or Firepower NGFW, Cisco SDA and ISE.
Finally, HPE, Aruba, Palo Alto NGFW, and Fortinet NGFW.
Desirable Skills for this post:
Firstly, VMWare NSX.
Secondly, Cisco ACI (not a hard requirement).
F5 ADC (LTM, APM, AWAF, GTM).
Finally, SD-WAN, SASE (Cisco, VMware, VeloCloud, Fortinet, Palo Alto).
Firstly, CCNP Enterprise.
Secondly, CCNP Security.
Palo Alto PCNSE.
Finally, Fortinet NSE5 or higher.
Maintain and develop expert-level technical relevance through prior working knowledge. This is from delivering complex projects and vendor certifications. Also, technical training in core and associated skills, vendor relationships, and industry awareness.
Participation in trade or vendor events.
Have good time management, planning, and sales.
Have good communication skills.
Maintain extensive commercial awareness.
Able to protect the interests of the company in all areas of professional services.
Must have a working knowledge of technical infrastructure hardware, software, and solutions.
Have expert-level technical working knowledge in one or more relevant fields.
Proven track record in delivery of quality and consistency.
Finally, prior working knowledge in an IT Services organisation, IT channel, or value-added reseller.
