If you are passionate, results-oriented, and innovative Infrastructure and Operations Manager, this could be the perfect role for you. We are looking for someone to help our client achieve their strategic goals in supporting small and medium companies in the UK.

As an Infrastructure and Operations Manager, you will become part of our Global Operations team, ensuring our systems are operational for our clients and customers in the UK and North America.
You will be responsible for managing the IT Infrastructure for our UK locations and overseeing the Service Desk team members located in the UK. Managing the performance of Level 1 services and support staff, ensuring that service levels are achieved.
As a senior member of the technology team, you will be responsible for supporting AWS Cloud services. As well as systems in the UK including networking, Active Directory, telephony, VPN, file and system servers, and vendors providing managed services support.
Additionally, you will coordinate with other senior members of the technology team to assess future infrastructure requirements, set up monitoring and reporting with analysis for preemptive issue management, and work together with the IT and PMO teams to successfully deliver IT Projects both in the UK and globally.

Job Overview:

Firstly, assist to deliver strategic infrastructure projects and initiatives across the company, supporting the overall implementation of the cloud strategy.
Oversee requests, incidents, and problems.
Manage and coordinate urgent and complicated support issues.
Also, act as an escalation point for all requests and incidents.
Assist in developing and managing a mature phone or ticket escalation process.
Determine the root cause of issues and communicate with internal and external customers.
Oversee UK staff activities.
Build and obtain training material for support staff.
As needed, schedule employees working times and provide backup support.
Administer and oversee the operations of the physical and logical infrastructure within the UK offices.
Manage process for communicating outage, emergency activities to the organization.
Also, manage vendor relationships as it depends on daily operational needs.
Work with the infrastructure team on driving standardization and reliability across all performance-sensitive systems.
Finally, maintain an IT system update program that addresses identified risks and business security requirements for operating systems and infrastructure.

Skills and Abilities:

Firstly, have excellent written and oral communication skills. Be able to clearly summarise key information to senior management.
Strong management skills for directing infrastructure and operations team members and 3rd party consultants.
Also, have a strong desire to standardise and automate wherever possible.
Develop cloud management processes and best practices.
Deep knowledge of Active Directory best practices, both from a security and operational perspective.
Strong practical knowledge of other core infrastructure elements, including secure networking design & firewall configuration, and VPNs.
Also, be skillful in IT infrastructure items, such as server room facilities, structure cabling system, UPS, door access control/CCTV, air conditioning etc.
Design and implement cyber security-compliant protection options, including disk encryption, backups, and logging in Azure / AWS environments as required.

Need for this role:

Firstly, AWS Migration Experience (certification is optional).
ITIL Foundation Certification is a plus with a specific focus on ITIL practices for incident, problem, or change management preferred.
Also, 5+ years of Information technology experience supporting infrastructure and desktops.
5+ years of experience with Cloud management in AWS, Azure, Microsoft O365, and Azure Active Directory.
Also, a wide breadth of knowledge across IT domains.
Finally, Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field or equivalent experience.
