Job Overview:

We are hiring an AI Ethics Specialist for a 6-month remote contract. You will play a crucial role in ensuring AI systems are ethical, transparent, and compliant with regulations. This position offers a daily rate of £500 and the opportunity to collaborate with diverse teams on groundbreaking AI projects.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement frameworks for ethical AI governance, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to bias, fairness, and transparency in AI models.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, legal, and compliance teams to integrate ethical AI practices across the development lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of AI systems to ensure adherence to ethical guidelines and data privacy regulations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in AI ethics, advising on best practices, compliance, and risk management.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Stay informed on emerging AI ethics trends, regulations, and technologies to guide policy updates.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Ethics, Data Science, Computer Science, Law, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in AI ethics, data privacy, or related roles within tech or AI-driven industries.
  • Deep understanding of AI/ML systems and their ethical and societal implications.
  • Knowledge of AI ethics regulations and standards, such as GDPR and CCPA.
  • Expertise in identifying and mitigating algorithmic biases, ensuring fair and transparent AI systems.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable ethical guidelines.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams to implement AI governance frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in machine learning, data analysis, or AI system design.
  • Certifications in AI Ethics or Data Privacy (e.g., CEPE, CDPSE).
  • Familiarity with tools and techniques for detecting and mitigating bias in AI models.

Main Duties:

  • Lead the development of ethical AI governance frameworks.
  • Monitor AI systems for compliance with ethical and data privacy standards.
  • Provide expertise and training on AI ethics to internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Regularly update policies to reflect the latest industry regulations and best practices.
