If you are looking for contract jobs in London, we have an exciting opportunity. This contract role is for a Gaming App Engineer and joins a well-established company. This role offers remote working and is initially a 3-month contract, but this may be extended.

We are looking for an engineer with creativity, innovation, and talent, capable of generating and implementing unique ideas.

Responsibilities:

Firstly, design and implement game features, mechanics, and functionality.
Secondly, collaborate with game designers and artists to bring creative concepts to life.
Write efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code for games.
Also, optimize game performance and troubleshoot issues on multiple platforms.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in game development.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of game elements.
Collaborate with quality assurance teams to identify and fix bugs and enhance the overall gaming experience.
Participate in code and design reviews to maintain high-quality standards.
Finally, contribute to the overall architecture and design of the gaming systems.

Qualifications:

Firstly, a bachelor’s degree in computer science, game development, or a related field.
Secondly, have proven experience as a game developer or gaming engineer.
Likewise, you must have a strong proficiency in programming languages such as C++ or C#.
Experience with game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine).
Also, have a solid understanding of 3D graphics, physics, and animation in game development.
Familiarity with AI programming and pathfinding algorithms.
Furthermore, have excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Finally, have a passion for gaming and stay updated on industry trends.

Preferred Qualifications:

Firstly, publish games or projects showcasing your work.
Secondly, experience with virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality (AR) game development.
Also, familiarity with multiplayer game development and networking.
Lastly, knowledge of mobile game development for iOS and Android platforms.
