If you are looking for contract jobs, we have an exciting opportunity for a Data Migration Specialist. This position will join our client’s well established company in Thurrock. The contract is initially for 2 months, but it may be extended. This role is inside IR35, so candidates will need to work through an umbrella provider.
Firstly, meeting with businesses (SMEs or business leads) and/or users to identify and define data migration needs.
Secondly, formulate a data migration process that is aligned with the data migration process of the supplier of the target system.
Also, formulate a data migration plan or schedule that is aligned with the overall implementation plan from the supplier of the target system.
Likewise, undertake an audit of the existing data sources and work in consultation with business (SME, leads, or users) to define business rules for the migration.
Identify all data quality issues and improvements that need to be made to support the successful completion of the data migration as per the overall delivery plan.
Support testing of data migrated, covering unit testing, coordination with suppliers assigned DM consultants for ETL, and related testing.
Also, conduct user acceptance testing of each data load, as well as further regular internal loads; this would require coordination with business leads, SMEs, and users.
Knowledge of legacy databases as well as the ETL process that will be used by the supplier of the target system.
Eye for details and accuracy for data extractions from the legacy system to avoid duplication or inaccurate data being migrated to the target system.
Solution-focused attitude to deal with a range of data issues that would arise from the migration of data from multiple different legacy systems to one target system.
Data protection acumen, as data dealt with will put vulnerable people at risk.
Must have experience working as a data migration consultant independently using the ETL framework.
Also, experience in data design and development with experience in SQL, scripting, and data mining techniques to carry out data extraction from the legacy system.
Lastly, you must have experience dealing with a wide range of data sources for extraction into one or two target systems.
Firstly, you must have effective communication, presentation, and written communication skills.
Secondly, be customer-focused and able to build relationships at all levels.
Planning and scheduling application integration and upgrades
Also, have a good understanding of the of the latest IT technology and trends.
Likewise, a good understanding of GDPR and data protection legislation
Knowledge of local government applications, services, and processes
Proven understanding of SQL
Broad knowledge of Council applications
Proven understanding of children’s social care applications
Knowledge of synergy and liquidlogic applications, especially those related to data tables and data migration
Also, previous experience of migrating EHCP data into EHM
Experience in performing data matching
Finally, data quality management experience
