If you are looking for day-rate contract jobs, we have a desktop engineer with network experience. This role is based in Edinburgh, and the contract term is 3 months. You must hold SC clearance for this role. The day rate is £240 and is inside IR35; therefore, it is only suited to umbrella contractors

Role overview

Supporting one of our clients based in Edinburgh, day-to-day activities will include resolving a wide variety of desktop software and hardware incidents, along with some physical network duties.

The working hours are: 07:00–16:30 Mon–Thurs and 07:00–13:30 Fri—hours to be agreed. Due to the nature of our client’s work, the successful candidate will need to hold a SC Security Clearance. For this reason, we are only able to progress with applications from British nationals.

Key role requirements:

Firstly, responsible for maintaining and promoting the highest level of service to the client

Secondly, adhering to technical standards, service delivery processes, and ensuring service delivery is both cost-effective and efficient

Also responsible for incident ticket handling, escalation, and problem diagnosis.

Furthermore, desktop, laptop, and VDI: build, configuration, and deployment to end users

Assist with software installation and deployment.

Likewise, assist with smartphone deployments.

Secondary role needs:

Assisting the 3rd Line support teams with laptop, desktop, and VDI terminal support tickets

Likewise, hardware installation, upgrade, and break fix for desktop, laptop, and server

Also, Smarthpone support, Network patching and trouble shooting

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 Operating Systems – Deployment, configuration, and support

Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010 onwards

Working knowledge of Active Directory – Users and Computers

Have an understanding of DNS, DHCP

Working knowledge of Cisco AnyConnect VPN

RSA Secure Login administration

Proven and demonstrable software and hardware troubleshooting skills

Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM and OS / Application deployment

Good written communication: concise and accurate call logging, documentation and email correspondence

Able to work well as part of a team or independently

Desirable skills / qualifications:

Firstly, ITIL Version 3/4 Foundation

CompTia A+ Certification

Finally, Microsoft Windows 7/10 training and certification
