If you are looking for jobs in Ashford Middlesex, we have a great role for a QA Manager/Team Leader. This is a permanent position, and the salary is between £55,000 and £65,000. This role offers hybrid working (3 days per week) at Ashford, Middlesex.

We are looking for an experienced QA Manager to enhance our software testing process. This person must be an enthusiastic, self- starting problem solver with the ability to learn new technologies quickly. You will be experience with supervising / leading a team on process and procedures. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator to ensure a good fit for our development team. You will play a key role in the software testing lifecycle and must work well in a team environment in a ‘hands on’ role, but also able to work on their own initiative with minimal supervision, leading a team of automation and manual testers.

Overview:

We build top of the line software for the freight community. Our software is a leading product which delivers a B2B and B2G connectivity solution.
The product that is actively under development is a mature application (client/server) which started life in 2008 and has been deployed to live customers since 2011. We are currently building a new web-based front-end (greenfield development) alongside our flagship product. There is a good mixture of technologies used in keeping this software up-to-date, and there is also a huge backlog of work to keep us busy for the immediate future. As a company, we’re very hot on quality. We’re looking for an individual who will inspire our test team, will have a passion for software testing and will enhance our agile working environment.

Expectations:

Firstly, knowledgeable about testing processes, agile practices, and principles.
Also, create and maintain detailed and readable test plans / test cases / process documentation for testing the software.
Likewise, create and maintain both API and UI based automated tests using a variety of frameworks.
Complete testing of the software.
Furthermore, develop and maintain documentation to a high standard for both internal and external use.
Familiar with Windows, Windows applications, and Microsoft Office products.

Experience needed:

Firstly, 7 years of testing and demonstrable lead/management experience.
Secondly, expert test automation practitioner. This includes implementing a test automation strategy and continually improving test automation scripts, practices, and procedures.
Furthermore, must be comfortable with designing and implementing test strategies. We want someone who will pro- actively challenge, validate and if necessary, work with the management team to enhance existing procedures.
Likewise, be able to mentor your co-workers and continually improve processes across the SDLC.
Also, have a good eye for detail and possess good problem analysis / excellent communications skills.
Lastly, enthusiastic and be willing to accept new challenges.

An ideal candidate would also have the following:
Firstly, knowledge of completing customs declarations and/or a wider knowledge of freight forwarding.
Secondly, experience with Azure DevOps, Microsoft Test Manager and/or Eggplant.
Also, qualifications such as ISEB/ISTQB.
Finally, experience with differing test environments / VM’s / API testing tools.
