Job Title: Senior ERP Master Data Management (MDM) Specialist
Location: Geneva, Switzerland
Rate: 650 CHF per day
Hours: Office Hours
Experience Level:
- Approximately 8–10+ years in Master Data Management and data governance roles
- Proven experience in establishing MDM practices, maintaining master data for ERP systems, and leading data governance initiatives
- Hands-on experience integrating master data into ERP environments, ensuring consistent data across modules/systems
Preferred Industry Background:
- Experience in large, data-intensive enterprises or regulated industries
- Background in global projects or multinational companies with complex master data, such as manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, or financial services
Technical Skills:
- Deep knowledge of MDM principles and data governance frameworks, including data quality standards, data cleansing processes, master data lifecycle management, and establishing data stewardship models
- Expertise in ERP systems, preferably SAP ECC, with an understanding of how master data (customers, suppliers, products, etc.) is structured and utilized across different modules
- Hands-on experience with MDM tools or platforms, such as SAP Master Data Governance (MDG), Informatica MDM, IBM InfoSphere, or Talend
- Strong data modeling and database skills, including defining master data models and attributes, designing hierarchies and taxonomies, and understanding relational databases or data warehouse concepts
- Familiarity with data integration techniques (APIs, ETL) to link MDM systems with ERP and other applications
- Knowledge of data quality management techniques and tools, capable of implementing data validation rules, conducting data quality audits, and using metrics to monitor master data health
Certifications:
- SAP Certified Application Associate and/or SAP Master Data Governance certification
Soft Skills:
- Strong interpersonal communication skills in English; proficiency in other languages is an advantage
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with finance, procurement, IT, and sales teams and translate data findings into business insights
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities for investigating data issues and identifying root causes
- Detail-oriented with the ability to see the big picture; adept at troubleshooting process and data problems
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlines in cross-functional teams, often acting as a bridge between technical teams and business users
- Strategic mindset to align master data management initiatives with broader business strategies and drive continuous improvement in data processes
