About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced System Administrator to join their team in Chippenham. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient, high-quality service delivery and platform management. As a System Administrator, you’ll oversee ITSM management using Jira, administer ServiceNow on AWS, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Service Desk team to deliver top-quality support, utilizing Jira ITSM for managing incidents, requests, and problem records.
  • Oversee ServiceNow platform operations on AWS, ensuring compliance, security, and stability.
  • Maintain configuration and asset management accuracy in the ServiceNow CMDB.
  • Implement and monitor business continuity and incident response plans with AWS CloudTrail and CloudWatch.
  • Customize ITSM processes in Jira and ServiceNow to align with MOD standards and ITIL best practices.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and SOC teams on service improvement initiatives.
  • Engage with MOD stakeholders, vendors, and SOC partners to ensure secure, compliant environments.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Jira ITSM Proficiency: Skilled in managing incidents and problem records, with a focus on SLA compliance.
  • ServiceNow Expertise: Workflow management and application configuration in AWS-hosted environments.
  • AWS Monitoring: Proficient in AWS CloudTrail and CloudWatch for platform health and security audits.
  • Configuration Management: Knowledgeable in ServiceNow CMDB.
  • Leadership: Effective leadership and collaboration abilities.
  • ITIL Certification: ITIL v3/v4, focused on Incident and Service Management.
  • MOD Framework Knowledge: Familiar with MOD’s SIAM and Defence Service Management frameworks.
  • AWS IAM and RDS: Experience with AWS IAM and RDS (e.g., MariaDB).
  • Security Optimization: Understanding of NGINX for secure traffic routing.
