Desktop Support Engineer roles

If you are looking for Desktop Support Engineer roles, GTS has some great opportunities. This job is for a Desktop Support Engineer III. This position is located in Rhymney, Wales. The salary is £28,290 plus an on-call shift allowance.
This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 16:00 or 09:30 to 18:00. This role also requires you to be part of an out-of hours on-call rota.

As a Desktop Support Engineer you will:

Deal directly with clients in a friendly and highly confident manner

Troubleshoot known and unknown hardware and software issues related to desktop, laptops, workstations, peripherals, and associated accessories

Provide VIP support

Build and deploy PCs, patch network points, troubleshoot printer problems, support standard software packages, and other general “IT” tasks

Work comfortably in comms areas, providing ‘Hands and Eyes’ support to other teams

Support a 1 in 2 on-call rota for the site for any out of hours incidents.

Needed for this role:

Firstly, knowledge of current and past Microsoft windows operating systems

Secondly, working knowledge and experience with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, Intune etc)

Likewise, experience in Windows imaging techniques (Network & Local)

Also, Microsoft Active Directory & Azure Active Directory knowledge

Experience with using remote desktop support tools

Most importantly, excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Likewise, must be able to work independently and part of a team

Experience and technical knowledge of IT, PC’s / peripherals, and their architecture

Experience with break fix, IMACs and small project works

Working experience with Ticket Management
