We have some exciting part time IT jobs, this role is for a Contract role Desktop Support Engineer. The contract is set to run until June 2024 – potential to extend.

This is a site-based contract role but is inside IR35. As a result, this role is suited to umbrella contractors only.

Working as a Desktop Support Engineer, you will provide and maintain service continuity for the client’s desktop technology and resolve any technical issues that may occur, all within contractual agreements.

We are looking for people who are passionate about technology and increasing their existing knowledge, whilst delivering exceptional customer service.

WORKING DAYS/HOURS: 3 days per week. Tuesday to Thursday – Standard Office hours
DBS check required!

General Role Tasks:

Firstly, you will respond to customer incidents, service requests and manage through to a successful resolution

Secondly, deliver a deskside service to the customer, including hardware break fix and software support for laptops and desktops across the site.
Thirdly, maintain desktop devices.

Additionally, manage and maintain the configuration and installation of desktops, including patch updates and hardware replacements.

Finally, monitor security profiles and anti-virus software on all Desktop Devices. Take appropriate action in the event of non-compliance with security requirements.

This role requires the following skills & experience:

Working technical knowledge, in order to address service work orders, for PCs, laptops, cabling, televisions, projectors, phones, peripherals and site security equipment
Working technical knowledge of standard systems and business software

Soft skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to apply intermediate level of subject matter knowledge
Works on problems/projects of moderately medium-complex scope
Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures
Evaluates unique circumstances and makes recommendations.
Typically 2-3 years of experience
Ability to provide disposal services
Able to independently problem solve
Able to provide feedback on new technical processes to help drive efficiency
