GTS has a great contract role for a Desktop Support Engineer –  BAU Field Service support

We have an exciting opportunity for a Desktop Support Engineer to join a blue chip organization in Hull on an initial 6 month contract. This contract role is inside IR35 therefore, is only suitable for umbrella contractors.

A SNAPSHOT OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

Firstly, you will provide engineering support to client operating platforms for AV meeting room support. Secondly, provide hands and eyes support for the corporate network and print services, Additionally, work in collaboration with the Service Desk on user break/fix and other support functions to meet the SLA.

IDEALLY, WE ARE LOOKING FOR THE BELOW KEY SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES:

Administration of lab network (switches, firewalls, servers, computers, lab printers, tablets, Active Directory, backup, licensing etc)
Enhance digital security compliance of the lab network
Enable digital security compliant lab systems to connect to the bp network (inc. any firewall requests)
Engage with lab instrument vendors for support
Partake in knowledge sharing with peers at other Applied Science sites
Furthermore, assist in the development and deployment of new technologies into the lab environment
Finally, experience in networks, server, desktop, backup and AD administration, primarily to support the lab environment, and also provide local FS/AV support when needed
