The salary is £35000 to £45000 per annum.
The location is Warton, City of Preston

The successful candidate will work on-site, Monday – Friday. This role is 09:00 – 17:30 in a fast-paced environment, managing and maintaining the enterprise network.

Working as part of the team you will gain access to a large library of training courses and accreditations. This is to help further your skills and development.

Due to the nature of our client’s work the successful candidate will need to either hold or be able to obtain SC Security Clearance. For this reason, we are only able to progress with applicants who already hold BPSS Clearance.

Key tasks include:

Firstly, deliver network engineering projects and handle advanced support issues.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot various network architectures and hardware.
Design and implement business solutions using common network equipment.
Monitor and diagnose performance issues.
Also, draw up network status reports.
Collaborate with network architects to design and implement functional company networks.
Create and implement network security measures.
Mentor junior Network Engineering staff.
Also, conduct regular network performance tests.
Delegate network maintenance tasks to junior staff.
Finally, deal with escalated network support issues.

Essential skills and qualifications:

Firstly, you must have a current Cisco LAN / WAN.  CCNA-level experience is required.
Previous work experience as a Network Engineer. Have proven experience in Firewalls and LAN/WAN networks.
Have advanced knowledge of network operating systems. This includes Cisco, JUNOS, and IOS.
Skills working with networking hardware including CPUs, wiring, and routers.
Be familiar with routing protocols.
Have good analytical skills.
Also, be good at problem solving.
Skilled in time, priority, and task management.
Interact with customers and team members.
Be able to communicate well with team members and support personnel.
Be able to work on your own and as part of a team.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
Finally, have the ability to convey a professional image and deal confidently with technical problems.

Desirable skills and qualifications:
Firstly, have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or a related field. Or, have the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Have strong leadership and mentoring skills.
